1. Who is the course for?


The course is designed for the following category of students

  • Those who aspire to be public leaders and wish to serve the country
  • Those who want to pursue a career in research in the area of governance (domestic as well as international)
  • Students looking to enter the field of public life/ governance in a professional manner


2. What is the duration of the course?


The Public Leadership programme is a six month residential course without any holidays/ breaks


3. What is the unique proposition of the course?


  • The course is based on ‘Kautilya Arthashastra’ the supreme text on ‘RajNiti’ including ‘Anveekshikee’, the art of thinking
  • It is a specialised programme meant for creating value based public ‘leaders’ & political ‘entrepreneurs’
  • The course has been created in ‘Knowledge Partnership’ of ‘Mumbai University’ with access to its infrastructure
  • It is a perfect blend of ancient spiritual wisdom and modern technology (with a Case study & Research based approach)

4. What are the eligibility criteria for the course?


The first and foremost criteria for selection will be the intense desire to serve the country and restore it to its original glory. The minimum eligibility criteria are a graduation degree with atleast 50% marks and the candidate should have no family encumbrances considering it is a residential programme. Both male and femal candidate can apply. The candadate should be in the age group of 25-30 years.


5. How does one apply for the course?


You can apply to the course online by visiting our website www.ciplmumbai.in .
All interested candidates have to complete a questionnaire online, based on which the candidates will be shortlisted for the next round i.e. personal interview. The list of selected students will be announced based on the two rounds.


6. Where will the course be conducted?


The course is being offered under the aegis of Department of Philosophy, University of Mumbai. It will be conducted in the premises of the department in the Kalina Campus (Vidyanagari) of the University of Mumbai.


7. What are the subjects that will form part of the course?


The course is predominantly based on the ‘Kautilya’s (Chanakya) Arthashastra’ which is the supreme text on ‘RajNiti’ (politics). Additionally the syllabus will include political management ideas from ancient Indian texts and modern political management concepts. There will be a strong emphasis on case study and real life projects for superior learning.


8. Do I get a degree/diploma on completion of the course?


You will be given a certificate on successful completion of the course.
